“Dialogue of Cultures”: A Musical and Poetry Evening at the National Museum Atrium
The musical and poetry evening “Dialogue of Cultures”, dedicated to the poetry of Nizami Ganjavi, was held in the Atrium of the National Museum in Belgrade, with pianist Mina Ristić Jonić performing alongside Serbian and Azerbaijani artists.
The musical and poetry evening “Dialogue of Cultures” took place on 17 November 2021 in the Atrium of the National Museum in Belgrade, organised by the Azerbaijani Cultural Centre with the support of the City of Belgrade. The programme combined works by Azerbaijani, Serbian and world composers with the poetry of Nizami Ganjavi, the great 12th-century poet. The evening was held in the year Azerbaijan declared the Year of Nizami Ganjavi, marking 880 years since the poet’s birth.
Pianist Mina Ristić Jonić performed alongside soprano Jasmina Trumbetaš Petrović, pianist Zarifa Ali-zade and violinist Isidora Marjanović. The verses were recited by the concert’s guests Nemanja Jovanović and Ramiz Hadžijev, and the evening was accompanied by an exhibition of works by painter Jevgenija Turkoglu.
For Mina Ristić Jonić, it was her first performance before an audience after a long break caused by the coronavirus pandemic, as she herself noted after the concert: “A wonderful evening after a long break.”
The concert was also covered by Azertag, the Azerbaijani state news agency, in an article on the literary and artistic evening dedicated to Nizami Ganjavi in Belgrade.
