Serbian Art Song at Princess Ljubica’s Residence and the Čukarica Cultural Centre
In the autumn of 2022, Mina Ristić Jonić and Jasmina Trumbetaš Petrović presented two programmes of Serbian art song to Belgrade audiences: “Zora zori, poj se budi” at Princess Ljubica’s Residence and “Gradina” at the Čukarica Cultural Centre.
After the series of concerts “An Evening of Serbian Art Song” in the 2021/2022 season, pianist Mina Ristić Jonić and soprano Jasmina Trumbetaš Petrović continued to present Serbian art song on Belgrade stages. In the autumn of 2022 they gave two concerts with new titles and programmes.
The concert “Zora zori, poj se budi” (“Dawn Is Breaking, Song Awakens”) took place at noon on 25 September 2022 at Princess Ljubica’s Residence, a building erected in 1831 for Princess Ljubica, wife of Prince Miloš Obrenović. The guest of the concert was tenor Saša Božidarević, and the programme included works by Josif Marinković, Stanislav Binički, Miloje Milojević, Kosta Manojlović, Isidor Bajić, Dimitrije Golemović and Miroljub Aranđelović Rasinski. The concert was sponsored by the Belgrade City Museum and SOKOJ – the Serbian Music Authors’ Organisation.
The concert “Gradina” took place on 9 November 2022 at the Čukarica Cultural Centre, in cooperation with AnimArt and with the support of the City of Belgrade Secretariat for Culture. This time Mina Ristić Jonić and Jasmina Trumbetaš Petrović performed as a duo.
Admission to both concerts was free. In Serbian art song the piano is an equal partner to the voice, and through these programmes Mina Ristić Jonić built a repertoire to which she and Jasmina Trumbetaš Petrović return in later concerts.
